These steps assume you have the latest working version of MMI installed on both old and new computers.
The steps to take on the old computer:
1-Open MMI on your old computer (where the charts are to be copied from).
2-Select from the menu Tools > Backup Manager, and a window will appear.
3-First, press the "Create Backup Now" button; this backup could be helpful in the future.
4-Click the "Open storage folder"; an explorer window will open, pointing to the exact folder where MMI stores all the charts.
5-In this folder, a file called Charts.s3db will appear; you will need to copy this file to some removable device (like a usb stick or similar). One way among many to accomplish this is to click in the "Charts.s3db" file with the right click and select "Copy," then open an Explorer window pointing to the removable drive and again right-click and choose "Paste" inside this window.
Now the file with the charts is saved to the USB stick. You will use this to copy the charts to your new computer.
The steps to take on your new computer:
1- First, insert the USB stick into the new computer. A folder should come up containing the file that we copied before.
2- Open MMI on the new computer, select from the menu Tools > Backup Manager, and a window will open.
3-This step is important: MMI must be closed before replacing the charts file.
4- Once you close MMI, there should be two explorer windows open: one containing the Charts.s3db file in the USB stick and the window we opened from MMI (this one should be called "Data").
5- Right click on the "Charts.s3db file on the USB stick and select copy.
6- Right-click inside the "Data" folder and select "Paste." The computer will ask if you want to replace the existing file, to which you can say OK.
Now you can open MMI on your new computer, and the charts from the old computer should be there.
