Sometimes changes made to the system made by Windows updates or other circumstances may affect MMI functioning and prevent it from running
These kinds of issues are usually solved by re-installing MMI manually using the latest version from this link:
http://static1.jovianarchive.com.s3.amazonaws.com/Software/MMI_Installer.zip
This will download a zip file to your computer containing an installer. Running it will show a dialog that can be followed with default options and it will replace MMI files in order to make it work again.
This process will not affect the charts already stored on your computer and should solve the issue. If doing the above steps does not work, please continue on.
In rare cases there is a preference file with MMI settings that gets corrupted, by deleting it we allow MMI to re-create and resume normal operations. NOTE: MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A BACKUP OF ALL YOUR CHARTS AS THEY MAY NOT BE RECOVERABLE AFTER THIS STEP! See step 2a for how to save your charts if you have not been able to make a backup.
Please try the following:
1. Uninstall the program. You can do this by using the search bar next to the Start icon (the looking glass) and type in "Add/Remove Programs". Scroll down to "Maia Mechanics Imaging". Remove that.
2. Show hidden files. Open any folder, "Documents" for example, and navigate to the "View" tab. Check the "Hidden items" checkbox.
2a. Go to the relevant app data folder at C:\ProgramData\Jovian Archive Corp\Maia Mechanics Imaging\Data. Copy the file called Charts.s3db and place that file somewhere safe, not in the same folder.
2b. Navigate to C:\ProgramData\. Delete the folder called "Jovian Archive Corp".
3. Reinstall the MMI program
If this method does not work, please let me know so we can take it to the next level of support.
