Unfortunately, the MMI Software is only compatible with Windows, but Mac users have several choices for running Windows on their computers.
Additionally it's important to know that post 2021 Macs (M1 ARM based Macs) are not compatible with MMI in any way at the moment.
The options available for pre 2021 Macs (Intel based) include:
1. BootCamp: Apple Computer itself provides a simple way to install Windows through a software called BootCamp, it uses a partition of the disk and turns the Mac into a regular PC, it has the disadvantage that you either start the computer with MacOS or with Windows, but not both. It is most suited for someone who really needs a PC and will use the Mac for occasional tasks. A copy of Microsoft Windows is required.
2. Parallels and VMWare Fusion: Has the ability to run Windows inside of the MacOS so that they can coexist and even share files and resources.
Most suited for a Mac user with the need for occasional use of a PC. A copy of Microsoft Windows is required.
3. Virtualbox: A free alternative, community-maintained solution. A copy of Windows is required.
Please note, we also now have an online, subscription-based program at www.maiamechanics.com. This is the best method to use our software on Mac products, including the M1 ARM.
